What's Depression?

I would like to start the quotation of Dorothy Rowe, he said- "Depression is a prison where you are both the suffering prisoner and the cruel jailer".

Depression is a very common word that occurs frequently in our lives. It would be hard to find someone on earth who didn't suffer from depression. It's very common and serious medical illness that affects our feelings and activities negatively and it comes into our lives through various kinds of failures, in fact the main cause of disability is depression. According to the world health organization, it can affect adults, adolescents and children. However, various studies have shown that women suffer more from depression than men. And if a person suffer from long-term depression then he/she is more likely to be affected both physically and emotionally, and often seek medical attention.

Indeed, Depression is a mood disorder that constantly increases feelings of sadness and decreases interest. This is called major depressive disorder or clinical depression. It affects your feelings, thoughts and behaviours as well as can lead to a variety of mental and physical complications, resulting in problems with your normal functioning and sometimes you may feel that you are not fit to live in this world.

What Do You Mean By Lifestyle?

Life is impossible without style. Style is an important determinant of our lives and a reflection of human identity. Because through this, a person's likes and dislikes, thoughts, temperament, character, daily activities, culture and so on are expressed. In a word, style is an art of life. However, people's lifestyles vary by country, time, caste and individual such as-just as the lifestyles of rich or poor people aren't the same, nor are the lifestyles of urban and rural people.

##Jeff Calloway says, A lifestyle change beings with a vision and a single step.

The term lifestyle was coined by the Austrian Psychologist Alfred Adler in his 1929 book, The Case of Miss R.- introduced with the meaning of " Established in Childhood as the Basic Character of a Person". Since 1961, the broader concept of lifestyle has been documented as a "Way Or Style Of Living".  Lifestyle is a combination of determining vague or unrealistic factors.

Lifestyle is a way of life established by a society, culture, group or individual that includes behaviors, interactions, activities and patterns of interest. Lifestyle basically describes how you spend your life or how you spend your time. In other words, the simple way of life is called lifestyle. In a word, the way or mean by which you spend your life is called lifestyle. For example, the work you do from waking up in the morning to going to bed at night is your lifestyle. Your lifestyle is revealed through your behaviour, movement or speech, through clothing, using cosmetics, eating habits, choosing friends, physical exercise and how you spend your leisure time.

Types Of Lifestyle

Lifestyle reflects the physical, mental, social and economic values, interests, opinions and behaviours of a particular individual, group or community. People around the world have different lifestyles. Such as- city to village, healthy to unhealthy and active to inactive. The following are the different types of lifestyle discussed.

1. Active Lifestyle:

People who follow this lifestyle are always active. They always like to keep themselves busy. Such as- exercising regularly, hanging out with people, joining groups or clubs. However, an active lifestyle doesn't mean that one has to expend all one's energy but it's always important to maintain good health of body and mind.

Healthy Lifestyle and active lifestyle are often close. Eating adequate amounts of food, avoiding junk food, saturated fat, sugar and alcohol and exercising regularly to keep yourself fit- are considered healthy living.

In such a lifestyle, people live a simple life. Workplaces are located far from their place of residence. Most people live in a firm or a  ranch. Here the civic amenities are comparatively less. They are very simple in nature and they mostly live in poverty.

6. Urban Lifestyle

The nature of life is different from rural to urban. The city is the heart of high technology and advanced living. City life is a set of personal and group life activities. The city has more population and more civic amenities. The people of the city are usually fancy in nature, unlike the villagers, they aren't simple in nature. Urban life tends to be mechanical in nature. Everyone runs after money in search of livelihood. There's a great lack of fresh environment like village.
